Senior Friends Session | Stonington, Connecticut

I'd had this idea in my head for a while about a beach session with a group of girls drinking from glass Coca-Cola bottles, blowing bubbles, wearing their chosen college tees - basically laughing and enjoying a final summer before parting ways to embark on the next part of each of their respective journeys.

Madison, Dani, Sarah and Morgan are such a blast to hang out with and they for sure made this vision of mine come to life. They're fun, genuine, and obviously completely adorable as well.

New England to Nova Scotia // Unconventional Spring Break - Part 3

The final(ish) entry documenting our trip to Nova Scotia. From Lunenburg to Halifax we learned the true meaning of farm to table, honored the history of NS as we walked through the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, tasted 16 samples of liquor as we tried to not fall off of barstools, enjoyed a final sunset on the beach, and indulged in one last decadent bite in historic Lunenburg before falling asleep and waking early to drive 13 hours back to Connecticut. I’m convinced the best vacations are the ones you feel like you could use a little vacation when you get home. The less you sleep the more you see.

New England to Nova Scotia | Unconventional Spring Break - Part 1

What do the words spring break mean to you? Perhaps warm weather, sandy beaches, palm trees, and drinks with colorful umbrellas? While those things sound perfectly nice, typical spring break destinations also include crowds and expensive prices. Our favorite adventures are to places while they're enjoying their "off" season - or as I like to call, their "local" season. We get to chat with more of the shopkeepers, there's far less traffic, and you can roam the streets of a town and really get a feel for the place as it is without too much tourist driven traffic. Andrew and I traveled with a couple of our friends to Nova Scotia last week. The trip was planned by myself and close friend, Katie, inspired by the local school schedule and a desire to travel internationally without needing to book flights. Verdict: with the right travel buddies, driving a little over 2k miles in 6 days is completely epic.

Northern California Road Trip

We are travelers. Road trippers. Adventurers. Firm believers that the best roads are the back roads and the best way to see a place is to see it together. After spending a lot of time in the Tahoe, CA area myself, I was finally able to bring my hubby along to share it with him. We ate a lot, laughed a lot, and drove. A LOT.
