James & Ashley | Waikiki, Hawai'i

I had been dreaming of a session like this since the moment we found out my husband Andrew would be working on Oahu - only problem was, I hadn’t met anyone who lived in Hawai’i yet. Minor detail, right?

Little did I know I would get to meet and photograph Ashley & James, or that we would have as much fun as we did, or that the session would end up being one of my absolute favorites ever. When scouting locations I had found a particular spot out on the pier (usually extremely busy at sunset with tourists and no fewer than 5-7 weddings - I wish I was joking), but I had my heart set on capturing a silhouette photo like the first one below and we made it work. They were such great sports and didn’t make me feel like a complete crazy person when I explained to them what I was hoping to achieve and them not being able to hear me when they walked out on the pier. And they crushed it.

I just want to sing it from every rooftop possible that I love working with couples in love to capture these moments.
